Who we are… What we do…
Hello everyone!
Back in August of 2009, in a twist of fate I was appointed Executive Director of The Hope Foundation of Greater Dayton, founded by an acquaintance of mine early in 2009. She was a single mom who grew up in a family that was always in need. Her heart’s desire was that no one would go to bed hungry. To that end, she established The Hope Foundation. She contacted me about needing some space to use as a base of operation for her effort. Six months into it, after developing some good connections and making some great progress, she made the tough decision to hand off the operation… to me.
I have been caring for those in need in our city for over twenty years, so I offered to help… to put the word out, to help develop a workforce of volunteers… to which she responded, “I think you should just take over.”
Since that time our reach has expanded considerably. We have grown from serving 100 to more than 1,000 households in Greene and Montgomery counties in Ohio! We are feeding over 3,000 people every month!
